AlburyCity regularly makes financial and in-kind contributions to eligible groups, organisations and individuals. Any financial assistance provided by council is governed by its adopted Financial Assistance Policy.

Expression of Interest

AlburyCity is now accepting Expressions of Interest for funding under the following programs:

  • Community Fund
  • Annual Contribution Program
  • Recurrent Financial Assistance

The EOI process has been developed to allow Council to support all applicants to develop the best possible application for consideration.

To be considered for funding in the 2017-18 financial year an EOI must be submitted by 5pm on 7 February 2017.

AlburyCity Funding Programs

Community Fund

The AlburyCity Community Fund is an annual funding program for significant community capital assets or improvements. Applicants must meet specific criteria.

Funding may be through a grant or an interest free loan (subject to a contract) or a combination of  both.

The grants are advertised in the last quarter of each calendar year with a closing date for applications in February the following year.

Annual Contribution Program (accompanied by Service Level Agreement)

AlburyCity offers Service Agreements to organisations to provide various cultural and/or community services and programs. These agreements provide a number of conditions which relate to how the funded organisation is to use the donated funds, and includes specific reporting processes that must be adhered to.

Approval is based on how the applicant addressed the needs outlined in the Community Strategic Plan, Albury 2030 and other Council strategies such as the Social Plan and through a community needs analysis.

Recurrent Financial Assistance

AlburyCity offers recurrent financial assistance through the preparation of it's annual Operational Plan. This form of assistance includes financial assistance and sponsorship.

Sport and Recreation Grants 

AlburyCity's Sport and Recreation Grants program provides assistance to the local sports community for a range of activities. We assist not-for-profit community organisations undertake facility development at sport and recreation facilities and individual athletes representing their state or country.

  • OPEN Individual Athlete Grant Program
  • CLOSED Facility Development - Infrastructure Improvements or Major Equipment
  • CLOSED Facility Development - Business Plans or Feasibility Studies

The Individual Athlete Grants Program is open all year round. Applications for facility development projects closed on 10 October 2016.

Community and Cultural Grants

AlburyCity's annual Community and Cultural Grants program assists eligible not-for-profit community groups and individuals to develop and present new projects, programs and activities for the Albury community.  

The funding is offered in three areas:

  • CLOSED Community
  • CLOSED Cultural
  • CLOSED Public Art/Placemaking

Applications for the Community and Cultural Grants closed on 10 October 2016.  

One-Off Community Donations and Support

AlburyCity offers one off donations for specific requests that arise during the year and are outside the guidelines of Council's grant, Community Fund, annual contribution and recurrent financial assistance programs. This can include event sponsorship assistance. 

Applications must be made in writing and can be made at any time of year.
