The Horseshoe Boardwalk Lagoon project will improve the safety of the trail, as well as enhance the water scenery for our community to enjoy.
This project is complete and opened for Community use.
In 2021, the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk and Wagirra Trail Realignment project saw two new 5km loops constructed. As part of the project, the need for the installation of a small section of boardwalk was identified.
This new boardwalk will remove the requirement for users to travel behind vehicles parked in the Riverina Highway car park, as they navigate the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk.
In addition to the new boardwalk, we are constructing a small viewing platform, shelter, seating, and interpretative signage.
The project aims to create a safe and quiet space close to the water, to further enhance our community’s experience with one of our beautiful walking trails here in Albury.
Construction will commence in September 2023 for approximately five weeks, weather permitting. The car park and trail will remain open; however, some areas may be impacted during construction.
