How we're building a smarter Albury

Our Smart Community program uses technology and data to help improve Council services, understand how our city is used and support better planning and decision-making.

Current initiatives include smart parking, environmental monitoring, open data and connected sensor networks.

Smart parking

Environmental monitoring

Circular Economy Data Portal

LoRaWAN network

AlburyCity operates a free LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) that allows low-powered sensors and devices to transmit small amounts of data over long distances.

The network supports smart-city applications including environmental monitoring, parking and other connected services.

Innovation partnerships

We work with Charles Sturt University and La Trobe University on research, education and practical projects that explore new ideas and opportunities for our community.

OUR
ACKNOWLEDGMENT

AlburyCity acknowledges the Wiradjuri people as the traditional custodians of the land in which we live and work and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and future for they hold the memories, culture, tradition and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that contribute to our community.
