Albury City Council has tonight resolved not to grant the Melbourne Storm a user agreement to utilise council facilities during their temporary visit to the city.

Albury City Council has tonight resolved not to grant the Melbourne Storm a user agreement to utilise council facilities during their temporary visit to the city.

Although AlburyCity remains strongly supportive of the Melbourne Storm as a valued sporting and events partner, Councillors have declined the club’s request in order to maintain Council’s over-riding public interest priority of protecting our community’s health and safety during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The vote to decline the request was five Councillors in favour and four against.

We note that it is not Council’s decision whether or not the club can train in Albury and tonight’s resolution applies only to the use of facilities managed by Council.
