On-site Sewage Management (OSSM) Systems

The OSSM Plan and subsequent guidelines outlines Council’s monitoring program to assist property owners to maintain their OSSM system in a satisfactory operating condition.

An On-site Sewage Management System (OSSM) refers to a wastewater system situated within a property's boundary that treats the wastewater generated from the property. These properties are not serviced by Council's sewerage infrastructure.

If these OSSM systems are poorly maintained or overworked, they may fail and cause environmental and public health concerns.
