April 28 2022 Creating a more inclusive and accessible AlburyCouncil is pleased to present its draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2026 (DIAP) to the community for feedback. Albury is a diverse and inclusive community, which prides itself on being a place where people from all walks of life can enjoy everything our city has to offer. The DIAP provides a range of practical actions we can take to be more inclusive through programming, education, events, access to information and infrastructure improvements. The DIAP was developed in consultation with the community through online surveys, meetings with the Albury Access Committee and relevant community leaders. Have your say Mayor Kylie King encouraged the community to have their say on the draft plan. "We want Albury to be a leader in promoting greater access and inclusion across our region." "There are people within our community that experience a disability every day, those that care for someone with a disability, and those who know someone with a disability. What's more, any one of us could develop a disability at any time." "Disability inclusion is everyone’s role and we all have a part to play," Mayor King said. The draft plan can be found on the AlburyCity website. Submissions close Wednesday 25 May 2022. |
