Ride2Work Day takes place on 16 October, and AlburyCity is encouraging community participation from both sides of the Border with a morning gathering in the city centre.
Along with the caffeine and breakfast muffins, local bike experts will be on hand offering handy tips for maintaining your wheels.
According to the Bicycle Network, two-thirds of Australians don't move their bodies enough to maintain health and happiness.
In addition, we’re often using cars and other vehicles that contribute to climate change.
Ride2Work Day is about encouraging people to use the cheap, convenient and environmentally friendly way to do the daily commute – on a bicycle.
Participants can join others at two pick-up locations in Wodonga (Sumsion Gardens carpark, 7:15 am) or Thurgoona (bike shelter cnr Table Top Rd & Riverina Hwy, 7:30 am) or make their own way to the CBD either by bike or on foot.
There are also three cycling packs on offer as lucky door prizes for those who register for the event.
The breakfast takes place in QEII Square from 7.30 am to 9.30 am on Wednesday, 16 October.
