Cr Kevin Mack, as Mayor, and Cr Jessica Kellahan, as Deputy Mayor, will lead Albury City Council for the next two years.
Cr Mack said it was an honour to be elected to the leadership position of Mayor.
“It’s a privilege to be elected by the Councillors, it’s a privilege to be representing this city,” he said.
“It’s a beautiful city, and it’s a place that I’m very passionate about, and we will work as best we can for betterment of our community.”
Deputy Mayor Cr Kellahan said she was excited to be part of a new councillor group, bringing new ideas and perspectives to the table.
“I’m very honoured to be a Councillor, so this is a bonus and I’m very much looking forward to working with Kevin and the other councillors,” she said.
AlburyCity CEO Frank Zaknich welcomed the new councillors and leadership team.
“There’s always an air of excitement when we have a new councillor group,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to another positive and productive term, with a host of fantastic projects already in progress and some amazing opportunities in the pipeline to continue serving the Albury community,” he said.
The nine new councillors will hold their next meeting on 28 October.
