The North Albury park recently reopened to the public after an extensive $2.2 million upgrade as part of Council’s Fredericks Park Master Plan.
Among the park’s new features are a bicycle education track, an outdoor fitness zone, a nature play area and an outdoor basketball space.
Also included are:
- An area for scooter and bicycle skills
- A kick-around grass area
- Junior and toddler play areas
- Enhanced planting and landscaping.
Cr Mack said the works had revitalised the park, bringing a whole new range of experiences and play opportunities to users.
“It’s great to see this project come to fruition and the new park features now being enjoyed by local families,” he said.
“What you see here is the realisation of the vision outlined in our Master Plan for Fredericks Park, which Council endorsed in 2021 after consulting the community.
“It gives me a lot of pleasure and satisfaction to be opening this amazing new play space for the community.”
The park upgrade project received $1.7 million in funding from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund, along with $286,000 from the NSW Government’s Local Small Commitments Allocation Program.
AlburyCity contributed the remaining $214,000.
