Albury Council election results

Monday 30 September 2024

AlburyCity’s new Council has been made known (subject to formal declaration) following the counting of postal votes and distribution of preferences.

Sitting at the Council table for the next four years will be returning Councillors former Mayor Kylie King, Jessica Kellahan, Stuart Baker, Darren Cameron and Alice Glachan, along with previous Mayor Kevin Mack.

The new Council also includes newcomers Raissa Butkowski, Phil Bullivant and Geoff Hudson.

Between now and late November, Councillors will undergo an intensive induction program to ensure clear knowledge of the workings of Council, understand their role and responsibilities and allow them to hit the ground running.

This includes a bus tour of our AlburyCity facilities, along with sessions on codes of practice, key policies, communication skills and awareness, planning laws and an overview of the key functional areas of Council.

On 14 October, Councillors will undertake the oath or affirmation of office. The new Council will then meet for the first time, including the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The 28 October meeting will see the new Council officiate over Council business for the first time, considering a range of issues and making decisions for and on behalf of the community.
