Help us check that our vision is 2050

Wednesday 14 August 2024

Where does time go? It has already been two years since Council endorsed our Community Strategic Plan ‘Towards Albury 2050’.

This important, long-term strategic document was a team effort, with the community playing a pivotal role in articulating the priorities and aspirations it contains.

It is now time for us to hear from you again: does the plan still capture the community's vision for Albury in 2050?

A community strategic plan is the highest-level plan that a council will prepare. It is the cornerstone document of the NSW Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework and is developed with and on behalf of the Albury community.

Put simply, this framework is the structure that ensures that all Council strategies relate to each other. It means everything we plan and act upon is done with our long-term vision firmly in mind.

In our case, that vision is centered around four key themes articulated by our community - A Growing Sustainable Economy, An Enhanced Natural Environment, A Caring Community and A Leading Community.

These themes create a platform for Council and other stakeholders to implement strategic goals and holistically plan for the future of Albury.

Towards Albury 2050 was crafted with your input and reflects a vibrant vision for our city's future. Let’s make sure it continues to resonate with our collective aspirations.

I invite you to visit our Have your Say page and complete the short survey to provide us the information we need to ensure we are on track to deliver Towards Albury 2050.

We are happy to chat with you if you have any questions or feedback. Contact us at Albury2050@alburycity.nsw.gov.au, and a member of the team will be in touch.

Remember, your voice matters in shaping Albury’s journey towards 2050.
