Whether it’s catching up with friends for a BBQ, visiting a local gallery, being entertained at a theatre show or sweating it out in a fitness group, isn’t it great to see many of the things that we may take for granted returning within our community?
Sometimes it can be the simple pleasures, such as connecting with friends, enjoying community sport, or visiting a local cafe that our keep our minds and spirits alive, and this edition of AlburyCity News focuses on things happening in our community that you might like to enjoy.
Some we may not have seen for some time, or have had to change for health and safety reasons. Our way of life has changed, however by having community events and activities to enjoy, it is a real sign that we are moving forward in living with COVID.
In the coming weeks we’ll be seeing AFL return to our region, as last year’s flag contenders the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants battle it out in a practice game at our newly-developed Lavington Sports Ground. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, the new Riverside Vibes event highlights the Yindyamarra Sculpture Trail on the banks of the Murray River… coming alive with amazing art, food and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. And let’s not forget the City2City RunWalk, which is a great way to get some fresh air whilst raising funds for our valued Albury Wodonga Health’s Community Care Services.
There is so much to see and do and I really encourage you all to get out and about, embrace our community, connect with family and friends and enjoy everything that our wonderful city and region has to offer.
