Albury Awards Presentation Evening Event

Join us Saturday, 25 January 2025 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Albury's Entertainment Centre for our Albury Awards Presentation Evening, a night dedicated to celebrating the exceptional achievements and inspiring contributions of our vibrant community members.

This prestigious event is a cornerstone of our city’s calendar, bringing together residents, leaders, and changemakers to honor those who make Albury an extraordinary place to live.

The evening will feature a keynote address by Simon Lloyd, our esteemed previous winner of Citizen of the Year, as he reflects on how the award has shaped his journey and amplified his impactful endeavors.

Adding to the atmosphere, you’ll be treated to enchanting live performances by the exceptional Murray Riverina Jazz Orchestra and the soulful songstress Niki Strauss, ensuring an evening of inspiration, celebration, and entertainment.

The Albury Awards Presentation Evening is open to all, and we warmly encourage the public to join us for this unforgettable occasion. Together, let’s applaud the dedication and brilliance of those who enrich our community.

    In choosing the recipients of the Citizens of the Year Awards, regard is given to the nominee’s achievements in the year immediately prior to receiving the award, as well as their past achievements and ongoing contribution to the community.

    A nominee need only be nominated once to be considered. The number of nominations received per nominee bears no weight in their selection.

    To be eligible, the nominee must meet the following criteria:

    • Citizen of the Year Award: must be an Australian citizen
    • Young Citizen of the Year Award: must be an Australian citizen and under 30 years of age as of 19 January 2024.
    • Community Organisation: must be a not-for-profit organisation consisting of four or more members that delivers services within the Albury local government area.
    • Senior Citizen of the Year Award: must be an Australian citizen and 55 years of age or over as of 19 January 2024.
