My Efficient Electric Home Handbook - Author Talk

Come along to author talk with Tim Forcey. Tim is a chemical engineer whose hobby 12 years ago in home energy improvement has led him to becoming a qualified Home Energy Advisor and now author. With over 1000 homes assessed across Victoria, Tim has released a new book which he will discuss, this book will assist you in How to slash your energy bills, protect your health and save the planet. Tim created and continues to administer the “My Efficient Electric Home” Facebook page which has over 120,000 members.

See a live demonstration of various approaches to energy-efficient housing and learn which changes offer best bang-for-buck.

Sarah Lebner is the Director of Cooee Architecture, a regional practice focusing on energy-efficient and low-carbon homes. Cooee practices throughout the Victorian High Country, NSW Snowy Mountains, ACT and surrounds. Prior to relocating, Sarah was the Principal Architect at Light House Architecture and Science in Canberra. Sarah was the sole recipient of the Aus. Institute of Architects 2020 National Emerging Architect Prize.

Kerbside Soft Plastic Recycling Pilot

Join us as we unveil the latest in sustainable waste management with Halve Waste's expanded kerbside soft plastics recycling pilot! Since its launch in 2022, the innovative program has already diverted 3 tonnes of soft plastics from landfills in Albury and Wodonga. Now, we’re set to reach 12,000 more households.

In this presentation, we’ll explore how this program will transform household recycling practices with the introduction of special orange bags made from 100% recycled plastic. Discover the journey of these bags—from kerbside collection to being processed into oil and transformed into new soft plastic products—a true circular economy.

Explore the key benefits of this initiative and see how your participation can make a real difference in enhancing recycling and sustainability in our community!

Also, find out how you can save on your electricity and gas bills using discounted energy efficient appliances and lighting upgrades for your home available through Government rebates (eligibility criteria applies). Bring your electricity and gas bills if you have any specific questions.
