Mungabareena Reserve

Mungabareena Reserve is another popular swimming and picnic area, off Mungabareena Road. This reserve has significant natural and cultural heritage value.

Mungabareena’s importance to its traditional owners has been officially recognised by a state law that enshrines the site as a ‘Declared Aboriginal Place’.

Caution: swimming in the Murray River can be dangerous and conditions can change quickly due to cold water temperatures, strong currents and submerged objects. Further information on how to stay safe in inland waterways can be found on the NSW Royal Lifesaving website
