The community are invited to have their say on the draft AlburyCity Advocacy Strategy 2025-2028, designed to promote the interests of and benefit to our community.
The draft strategy has been placed on public exhibition for 28 days after being endorsed by Albury City Council this week.
The draft AlburyCity Advocacy Strategy 2025-2028 has been designed to assist in the way Council delivers services and infrastructure, as well as assisting AlburyCity to seek partnering opportunities with other levels of government to meet current and future needs.
“Advocacy is more effective when it demonstrates a unified voice through partnerships and our effort is focused on engaging with other levels of government and key organisations in our community to gain support for Council and community priorities,” explained AlburyCity Mayor Kevin Mack.
“This draft Strategy lays out how we listen, represent and champion the issues that matter most to you.”
Refining AlburyCity’s advocacy focus this year has been informed by a comprehensive review of the 2022 – 2025 Strategy, the recently revised Towards Albury 2050 and other adopted plans and strategies, many of which have been subject to extensive community engagement.
“Indeed, the development of AlburyCity’s Draft Four Year Development Program for 2025-2028 and the Draft Operational Plan 2025-2026 were very important in the preparation of the draft AlburyCity Advocacy Strategy 2025-2028,” Mayor Mack noted.
Public exhibition of the draft AlburyCity Advocacy Strategy 2025-2028 will be promoted via the AlburyCity website. Submissions will be received on AlburyCity’s Engaging Albury website until Wednesday 23 April.
Hard copies of the draft Strategy will also be available to view at AlburyCity’s Kiewa Street offices, the LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library.
We will continue to communicate the outcomes of our advocacy efforts to the community and other stakeholders through an advocacy page on the AlburyCity website.
