Membership benefits

  • Borrow awesome books! Choose from a huge range of Junior fiction and non-fiction books, beginner readers, audiobooks, eBooks, DVDs, graphic novels, even board games.
  • Your very own library account! Search for books, hold them for yourself, and renew them online. And remember, taking care of your library card and returning books on time makes you a super responsible reader!
  • Make new friends! Join in a Reading Challenge, visit Storytime or join in LEGO club or a Bookclub.
  • School holiday fun! Keep busy with drop in-activities, treasure hunts and booked programs.
  • No worries about due dates or late fees! Loans will be automatically renewed on their due date for up to six weeks (if no one else is wants the book!) Late fees are waived when books are returned.
  • Double the fun! Your membership lets you borrow and return books at both Albury LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library.
  • Read anywhere, any time! Access our elibrary to read books and watch movies on your device.
  • Hold your favourite books! Reserve your favourite reads to make sure they're waiting for you. If we don't have it, just request it and we'll try to purchase it for future readers.
  • Free computer time! Use our computers and WiFi for an hour every day.
  • Learn new languages! Borrow books in another language from State Library of NSW.
  • Level up your learning! Make study a breeze by accessing resources like Britannica Library or the State Library of NSW online.

*Automatic renewal will not occur if the item has been reserved by another borrower, or if it has already reached the maximum 2 renewals.

How to join

The easiest way to join is to submit an application form online

To be eligible to join as an online member you must reside within a 100km radius of the Albury local government area.

When joining online, your account will be converted to an eResources membership within two business days. We’ll send you an email once the process is complete, notifying you of your new membership member, which will allow you to have full access to our online resources.

Please make sure you visit one of our 2 branches within 12 months with proof of identity, including your current address to make your membership permanent.

Alternatively you can join in person at either of our 2 branches, with proof of identity.

Official documents such as a driver's licence, bank statement, rates or utilities notice showing your current residential address are accepted.

New members under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to accompany them to show proof of address when collecting new library cards.
