Understand how to manage construction noise and the impact on neighbours and those living nearby to the work site.
To minimise noise related impacts from construction, builders and developers need to take all reasonable steps to reduce it. To help manage these impacts, restrictions are placed on the amount and when noise can be made on a construction site.
Conditions set out in your Development Consent or Complying Development Certificate will outline these noise restrictions in accordance with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) noise control guidelines. Below you’ll find the standard conditions for construction days and times:
Development Applications
7.00am to 6.00pm - Monday to Friday
8.00am to 1.00pm - Saturdays
No work is permitted on Sundays and public holidays.
Complying Development Certificates
7.00am to 6.00pm - Monday to Friday
8.00am to 1.00pm - Saturdays
No work is permitted on Sundays and public holidays.
Special approval can also be given on a case by case basis to allow work outside of the standard construction days and times, and will form part of the conditions of your development consent.
