Our Stories

Discover the remarkable stories of local Bhutanese families.

In their own words, three generations of the Rimal and Sapkota families share their experiences of migration as Nepali speaking Bhutanese refugees. Our Stories features oral histories, photography, personal objects and documentary films in an open and heartfelt exploration of the remarkable journeys, culture and achievements of two families that call Albury home. This exhibition was on display at Albury LibraryMuseum from 7 September 2024 to 23 March 2025, and continues as an online digital exhibition.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in conjunction with AlburyCity Council.

Our Stories features content taken from extended oral history interviews recorded with members of the Rimal and Sapkota families.
